Found - the plaza outside the church St-Sulpice. (by catherineshyu)

Moving through the alleyways of Paris, France. I found these beautiful indoor streets of sorts while walking around the neighborhoods of Paris. They house small boutiques, and the open glass ceilings just flood the place with light.

While exploring the maze right outside the Louvre Museum, I found this bird contemplating the glass pyramid. That was a fun shot.

Moving Day

Today, I finished packing up my San Francisco room - four big suitcases, a few bags, one well-worn copy of The Perks of Being a Wallflower and one camera with a blank memory card.

Today, I listen to the clanking of the cable car outside my window not with minor annoyance, but with nostalgia.

Today, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay is playing on repeat.

Today, today, today.

Today it’s 75 degrees out, perfect for some wandering.

Today is the beginning of a month without a place to call home.

Today, I have nothing and everything all at once, terrified yet leaning forward, heart aching yet full of hope.

Today, today is my day.

“Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal. Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep travelling honestly along life’s path.”

La Boqueria - Barcelona, Spain (by catherineshyu)

A late post from my Europe trip back in March 2013. La Boqueria was kind of like a farmers’ market - lots of food venders with very fresh fruit, juice, meats, fish, etc.

“Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.
